It is very similar in appearance to blighttown from dark souls.
The gutter is bullshit dark souls 2.
Like blighttown the gutter is one of those zones that grows on you once you get used to it s hazards and start to appreciate all the little touches in the level.
Enemies are easy so far and there s lots of room to maneuver and fight.
A forsaken area of darkness and poison where things are abandoned and since forgotten.
While the gutter is extremely annoying.
And unlike tomb of giants in dark souls 2 torches actually light up more than just a 3 foot radius around you.
The gutter is a transitional zone in dark souls 2 between majula and the black gulch.
If you just crawl through it lighting every torch you see breaking every poison statue in sight there are some very nice treasures in there that makes it a pretty fun little adventure.
The statues will shoot poison darts at the player.
I think the gutter is one of the best designed areas in all of dark souls 2.
As far as levels in the base game go the gutter is one of the more detailed ones.
So mush added extra bullshit.
The black gulch on the other hand.
Going from og ds2 to sotfs killed me in that area.
Framerate wise and level design wise it s so much better.
The gulch underwent significant changes in the scholar of the first sin expansion.
Too bad the worst designed area follows it level 2.
The gutter is a location in dark souls 2.
The gutter is a cluster of wooden platforms bridges and ladders located deep underground.
Plus you can light up sconces in the area making going through it much easier.
